3M™ Nextel™ 720 Woven Fabrics EF-19

High Temperature Mullite Ceramic Fiber Fabric

3M™ Nextel™ 720 Woven Fabrics EF-19 are advanced ceramic fiber textiles designed for extreme high-temperature environments where superior thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and mechanical durability are required.

Manufactured under the high-performance Nextel ceramic fiber family, EF-19 woven fabrics are widely used in aerospace thermal protection systems, turbine engine insulation, ceramic matrix composites (CMC), and high-temperature industrial applications.

These fabrics are woven using Nextel 720 continuous filament yarn, composed primarily of mullite ceramic fibers consisting of approximately 85% alumina (Al2O3) and 15% silica (SiO2).

This mullite composition provides excellent creep resistance, superior long-term thermal stability, and high resistance to oxidation in extreme temperatures, making EF-19 fabrics ideal for aerospace heat shields, thermal barriers, and high-temperature structural composite reinforcement.

With continuous operating capability up to 1200–1400°C, these fabrics are engineered for critical aerospace, defense, and industrial environments where conventional materials cannot perform effectively.

Product Overview

Nextel 720 EF-19 woven fabrics provide excellent structural integrity and long-term thermal durability in extreme heat environments.

The woven ceramic textile construction ensures high dimensional stability, mechanical strength, and compatibility with ceramic matrix composite manufacturing processes.

Compared with Nextel 312 and Nextel 440 fabrics, Nextel 720 fabrics offer improved creep resistance and better long-term performance at high temperatures, making them ideal for advanced aerospace insulation and structural ceramic composite applications.
